Gateway

The status of gateway is offline, what can I do to bring it online?

The gateway has two statuses: internet status and mesh status. If the issue is with internet status, ensure that the internet connection is working and stable. If the issue is with mesh status, ensure that the distance between the gateway and the nearest device to the gateway (HBGW01) is within 10 meters. If all the reqiurement are met and still offline, please try with reset the gateway.

How can I change the IP address of gateway?

For the HBGW01, please prepare a monitor and an HDMI cable to connect to the gateway. Additionally, use a mouse to connect to the gateway via the blue interface on the device. Once these connections are set up, you will see "System Settings" displayed on the monitor—click this option to access the network configuration page, where you can view the IP address.

For the HBGW02 and HBGW03-R, there is no need for such a complex process: you can directly change the IP address manually through the Koolmesh app.See image below.

How can I correct the time of my gateway?

Make sure that your gateway has access to the internet (connect with internet cable or WIFI). If the time of your gateway is still wrong, then please reset and re-add your gateway to correct the time.

Do I need to have a gateway to check the consumption value?

Yes, gateway is not only responsible for remote control of the luminaries but also collecting all the data. So, users need to have a gateway then all the data will be available on the web platform.

How long is consumption data stored when the gateway is down or disconnected from the internet?

This depends on specific offline scenario and gateway model:

  1. Gateway power-off or freeze (low probability)

If the gateway is powered off or frozen, all data will be retained locally on the devices. Once the gateway is powered back on, it will collect all the stored data from the devices and upload it to the server. As a result, you will see a large volume of data in the statistics on the day the gateway resumes operation—but there will be no data recorded between the time the gateway shut down and when it was restarted.

  1. Gateway offline (connected to the mesh network but no internet access)

For the HBGW01 (1st-generation gateway), all data can be stored in the gateway’s local storage for up to 15 days. However, this local storage feature does not apply to the HBGW02 (2nd-generation gateway) due to its limited storage capacity.
