Project and Network
What is a project and how many networks can be in one project?
A project like a folder which enables user to sort out their networks in a certain rule and it is easier to find out certain network. There is no limitation on the numbers of network in one project.
What is a network and why do I need to add devices to it?
A network is a common "location" to which Koolmesh devices must be added if they need to communicate with each other. All Koolmesh devices added to a network will share specific network settings. Even if only one Koolmesh device is to be used, it must be added to its own network to ensure it receives certain settings and can be controlled from the Koolmesh application. When a device is added to a network it can then be controlled from the Koolmesh app. Additional Koolmesh enabled devices can be added to an existing network if required at a later date. All devices in a network automatically form a wireless mesh link to other nearby Koolmesh devices in the same network.
What is the relationship between zones/groups/networks?
A project may contain multiple networks. Using the "Multiple Network Gateway Synchronous Control" feature in the Koolmesh app, users can synchronize operations across networks, including turning lights on and off, adjusting brightness, and modifying color temperature.
A network serves as a common "location" that encompasses multiple zones and groups within a single mesh network.
Zones are created by dividing a network into smaller sections. Each device can belong to only one zone. When creating or recalling a scene, the scene can be applied to an entire zone by setting the control target to the zone.
A group consists of any combination of devices in a network, such as a column, row, or arbitrary selection of devices. Groups can be customized to allow unified control over the included devices. A single device can belong to multiple groups as needed.
How many devices can be in one network?
A network can support up to approximately 200 sensors and 400 receiving devices (nearly 600 devices in total). However, the actual network size depends on the number of motion sensors and daylight sensors included. Movement detection and lux measurements significantly impact network traffic. For optimal user experience and network performance, it is not recommended to operate the network at its maximum limitation.
How do I take Koolmesh enabled devices into use?
Make sure that the device is powered on and under the range of Bluetooth signal can discovered, enable the Bluetooth of your smart phone. You can add the device to the mesh network by “Add devices” in device section in Koolmesh app.
How do I change from one network to another?
Koolmesh will list out all the networks under your account in “My networks”, you can change the network by clicking the network name.
Why can’t I find the project/network sometimes?
Maybe it’s hidden by accident. You can check by clicking the ➕ button on the network management page and selecting 'Show Hidden Items'. The hidden items will appear, and click...to choose “Cancel Hide”, then it will restore to normal.
What can I do if I delete a network by accident?
We have the “Network Recycle Bin” on the network management page. Click the ➕button, and select “Network Recycle Bin” to recover the network that owned to you. Be attention: Deleted networks are retained for a maximum of 30 days.
Can I do the commissioning without internet access?
Yes, the Koolmesh app supports offline commissioning, except for logging into the account and creating a new network. This means users must log in to the Koolmesh app and create a new network before performing offline commissioning onsite. Please note that after completing offline commissioning, users should not log out until they are in a location with internet access. For more details, please refer to page 05 of the App User Manual 2.2.
